You rifle scope must work for your particular situation.   Thie mans that the most expensive rifle scopes aren’t necessarily the best scopes after disaster strikes.  For example, a competition scope could be second to none when it comes to accuracy.  But, that scope may fog up whenever the temperature goes below freezing.   Also, expensive scopes can be tough or even impossible to repair.  So, if you break those scopes in a SHTF situation, you might be out of luck.  So, my advice is when a purchasing a scope for disaster situations reliability and sturdiness of a rifle scope should be your biggest concern.
